About Me

I'm a serious money geek and I looooove to share this knowledge with other peeps who want to take control of their finances once and for all! 

I've owned a successful small business for over ten years (a boutique photography studio, Megan Lane Photography, located in Helena, MT) and I'm also an educator with over fifteen years of experience in the classroom. 

I started getting serious about money when Scott and I were first married and I realized I had NO idea what I was doing or why we were running out of money every month.  Um...helloooo! We survived in college on less than $500/month - now that we've graduated and are getting HUGE paychecks, how do we not having enough money?!?!? {"huge paychecks" being a relative term of course;)} 

But the fact was, I knew there had to be a better way to handle our money.  Cue the next fourteen years of research and budgeting trial & error, amidst renovating our entire home, starting and nurturing a small business, and adding three babies to our family. 

Those fourteen years - and all of my experiences as a wife/mom/educator/small business owner - have given rise to these simple, but oh-so effective money management strategies. 

And I want to share those with YOU.
